Tinto Summer School Appeal

We - Hands Up for Trad - want to raise £1000 to help enable our young people's residential music weekend to happen. We currently run a week long event in July (Tinto Summer School www.tintosummerschool.com) and are now at capacity. This money will help us pilot another event at the end of the school holidays (12-14th August) and keep the costs down for the young people to attend.

Tinto has now been running for 11 years and our 2011 event sold out in 1 minute! It's not just music that the young people come to Tinto for. We have an active social scene including barbecue's, fancy dress, ceilidhs, rounders, football and more. Good friends are made at Tinto and the young people form friendships that last.

If we reach our target everyone who has given us money will have a tune written after them. There's only one tune so it will be one of the longest titles ever and hopefully get into the Guinness Book of Records!

Pledge £1 or more

A £1 pledge also gets your name on the Tinto August Weekend School tune! We're looking for help to reach £1000 and if £5 is too much for you at the moment how about £2 to ensure that the young people have a great time learning Scottish music? Thanks, Simon

Pledge £5 or more

Everyone who pledges us money (and if we're successful in raising our total) will get their name on a tune that will be written to mark the event. The tune will be emailed to you and embedded on the website along with a recording of the piece.
