Ramsgate Arts Summer Squall Festival

Ramsgate Arts is a collective of creative professionals and townsfolk who have come together to make things happen in the Kent seaside town of Ramsgate.

It's a great place, but there's neglect and deprivation too.

In particular there's a need for creative activities that people of all ages (but especially younger people) can participate in.

Over the past two years we have been staging events and exhibitions in the town, and last year we held our first festival - A Summer Squall - over the August bank holiday.

We're now putting the finishing touches on our second festival this coming August, but we need to raise an extra £800 for our proposed 'Squall in the Park', which will transform a local Victorian park for the day into a performance space for young musicians and performers, giving them a vital sense of achievement and the enjoyment of showing their work to a public audience. They’ll be joined for the finale by Mark Grist and MC Mixy: Dead Poets, with their hip hop poetry.

We'll be eternally grateful for anything you can afford to donate, but £5 or more will get you a name check on our website, and £10 or more will get you an invite to our festival launch party in Ramsgate on 26th August.
