OVERRULED

HELP TO LAUNCH THE PROFESSIONAL DEBUT OF WILMINGTON THEATRE; and their double bill of George Bernard Shaw's Overruled and Village Wooing to be performed at the Old Red Lion Theatre in January 2013. This is a hugely exciting moment for us- but we really need your help! Your donation will ensure we can produce a production of the best possible quality, and support new and emerging talent in their professional debut. Your donation will make a huge difference and we are so grateful for your help in bringing us closer to our goal.

"You get so sick of being happily married. It's always the happy marriages that break up. At last my wife and I agreed we ought to take a holiday..."

Overruled is a witty Shavian debate on adultery and wife-swapping, taking place on board a cruise ship. How He Lied to Her Husband is a love triangle with a neat twist: the husband is outraged when the younger poet insists he is not in love with his wife: "My wife is not good enough for you, is it?" Village Wooing is 'three conversations for two voices'; a charming two hander which demonstrates how the life of the man who writes the 'Marco Parlo Series of Chatty Guide Books' can be changed forever, after a chance encounter on a cruise liner...

These three Shaw playlets, written in 1913 and 1933 respectively, span the playwright's career and show him at his most entertaining and witty. Wilmington Theatre was set up in 2012 by Lucy Hough, Leo Wyndham and Alice St Clair Erskine. This, their debut professional production, is a hugely exciting and momentous moment for us, and for the cast.

But to make this happen we really need your help. We are currently £4,500 away from our goal of £7,500, and your help will ensure that we can:

- Create and design a production of the highest quality possible
- Pay our amazing creative team the wage they deserve for their work
- Support new and emerging talent in their debut venture into professional theatre

We are so grateful for your support; your donation will make a huge difference and bring us one step closer to our goal.
